INTRODUCING THE CANTRELLS

Jerry and Mary Alice (Mac) Cantrell have been married for 45 years.  They have four children – Keith, Kyle, Kevin and Kristy.  They are all faithful and active members of the Lord’s Church.  They also have 10 grandchildren.

They were involved in local ministry for approximately 25 years.  They served churches in Florida, Georgia, Illinois and Oklahoma.  For the past 16 years they have been involved in church development and missions.

For several years Jerry traveled across the United States in a ministry called “Spiritual Awakening Weekend.”  The ministry was designed to assist churches in personal development, individual growth, and in Christian giving.

For the past 16 years the Cantrells have traveled around the world teaching in preacher and church leader’s institutions.  They have taught in Russia, Ukraine, Central and South America.  For 11 years brother Cantrell Directed the Guyana International Bible Institute in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.  156 students graduated from the school and are preaching in Guyana, Suriname, the United Kingdom, some Caribbean Islands, Canada, and the United States.  In addition to training students the school concentrated on helping the Guyanese church to become fully indigenous.

Recently the Cantrells have been asked by the Sunset International Bible Institute, in Lubbock, Texas to join them in training preachers and church leaders around the world.  Sunset has training schools on five continents and in three locations in the USA. 

Since 25% of Churches of Christ are without local preachers and 600 men each year are leaving the ministry, it is imperative that men be trained urgently.  The ministry with Sunset surpasses any one country and has a worldwide view of evangelism, concentrating on training men in every nation.
